Black Youth Impact Program (BYIP) is a culturally grounded youth leadership and wellness program running in July and August 2026. This program is designed to support Black youth through mentorship, skill-building, and community connection in a safe and empowering environment. Participants will explore identity, build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, and develop practical tools for both personal and academic success while engaging with supportive peers and mentors.

Workshop
Anti-Hate Workshop

Standing Against Anti-Black Racism is a learning session designed to build awareness, understanding, and action in addressing anti-Black racism in our communities. This 3-hour workshop equips participants with practical tools to recognize, respond to, and help dismantle anti-Black racism in both personal and professional spaces. Participants will explore the history and current realities of anti-Black racism in Canada, its emotional and community impacts, and co-create best practices for meaningful support and action.

Youth
UJIMA Youth Network

UJIMA Youth Network is an 8-week peer-led program designed to uplift, support, and strengthen Black youth across the Waterloo Region (ages 12–21). This culturally safe and empowering space helps participants explore identity, build community, develop leadership skills, and strengthen resilience through meaningful connection and guided discussions. Over the 8 weeks, youth will engage in conversations, practical coping strategies, and mentorship opportunities with peers and facilitators who understand their lived experiences.

Kibliv Book Club

Kibliv Book Club is a storytelling and reading space for kids, providing Black identifying youth and children with opportunities to introduce and eventually increase awareness regarding Black Literature while also giving a medium to promote Black authors that can serve as influential role models to the community. This engaging program encourages a love for books while celebrating diverse cultural stories and voices. To have a greater understanding and appreciation of your Black identity and cultural heritage as well as a stronger connection to Black literature.

Healing Horizon

Healing Horizon is a weekly 8-week support group for Black and racialized women-identifying survivors of gender-based violence. Conversation circle for women, offering a safe and supportive space to share, reflect, and connect through meaningful dialogue and community care. This gathering focuses on emotional wellness. lived experiences, and collective healing. A protected and supportive space to share experiences and foster healing. Resources & tools for coping with trauma and promoting well-being, discussions on unique challenges faced by Black and racialized women and A focus on resilience, self-advocacy, and empowerment.
