Film & Discussion: Trauma and Wellness

Greetings,

With our partner, Black Health Alliance, we are excited to invite you to a unique film and discussion event designed exclusively for Black youth. It promises to be an evening filled with inspiration, thought-provoking ideas, and meaningful conversations.

Event Details: Let’s Talk About It: Discussions About Trauma Through Film

Date: Saturday, July 08, 2023

Time: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Location: Kitchener Public Library (85 Queen Street NorthKitchener)

Our event aims to bring together young individuals and professionals to engage in film and moderator-led discussions touching on trauma and wellness. We have carefully selected an engaging film that not only invites but also sheds light on important social issues that resonate with today's Black youth.

After the film screening, we will delve into a lively discussion, where you will have the opportunity to express your thoughts, share perspectives, and engage with fellow participants. We believe open dialogue is a powerful tool for learning, growing, and fostering meaningful connections with like-minded individuals on trauma and wellness in our communities.

Please extend this invitation to any youth, friends or peers interested in joining us for this unique event. The more diverse voices we have, the richer our discussions will be.

We look forward to you joining us for an unforgettable evening of cinema and meaningful conversations on Trauma and Wellness for Black youth. Community mental health resources and refreshments will be provided. Let’s explore storytelling’s power and ignite positive change in our community.

If you have any questions or require further information, please don't hesitate to contact us (226-336-1988). We're here to assist you!

Bake Sale (Fundraising)

  • KIND MINDS FAMILY WELLNESS (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Dear Community Members,

At Kind Minds Family Wellness, we have served the Black identifying community members in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region since August 2020. This fall, we are planning our first fundraiser to support our outreach efforts, engage with the community, bring awareness to our programs/services and highlight small, diverse businesses.

Our fall community event will include a Bakesale, raffle, and collaborations with small, diverse businesses in the community. However, we are of the stance that our efforts would go even further with support from community members in the form of baked goods, gift cards, use of community/public spaces, or cash donations. For cash donations, please refer to our Donation Page for information on how to request tax receipts from us.

With your support and contribution to our fundraising efforts, we are sure to achieve success and serve the Black-Identifying community well. For established organizations and businesses, this form of support would also go a long way in establishing your company/business/group as one of our sponsors with demonstrated work on your commitment to ensuring equitable outcomes for Black identified members in the Waterloo Region.

If you are interested in sponsoring our event, please get in touch with us at info@kindmindsfamilywellness.org or 226-336-1988. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

With gratitude,
