Ian's comments 👇🏾
It's important that we continue the conversation about diversity within our communities and our business environments, but it's even more important that we, the design community, lead the way and dig into the work of creating diverse spaces. Decanthropy was established to help architects and designers fold inclusive strategies into their existing creativity and brand messaging to spark and support the DE&I of their client brand through the design of the space. Let us know how we can help.

KMFW: 2021 Recipient of The Region of Waterloo's Community Innovation Grant
‘This is groundbreaking for us’: Community organization gets funding for Black youth entrepreneurship program
Record Reporter Fri., Nov. 19, 2021, Timer 2 Min. Read
The Community Innovation Grants (CIG) Program has been established via the Anti-Racism Initiative (Engage Waterloo Region) to harness creative energy - to foster new collaborations and partnerships, to build on and strengthen existing ones, and to find and develop new sustainable approaches to addressing social, health, cultural, economic, environmental and other needs in Waterloo Region.
For the 2021 CIG Program, the Regional Municipality of Waterloo will use Strategic Focus Area: Healthy, Safe, and Inclusive Communities, with a specific focus on removing barriers to connectivity and learning for the Region’s Black and Indigenous and racialized youth population, created as a result of the pandemic.
KMFW is honored to be the recipient of a 2-year grant of $50,000 towards its Leadership Skills Development and Pathway to Youth Entrepreneurial program. This is a culturally informed skills development and entrepreneurship program for Black identifying youth between the ages of 15 and 21, who reside in the region of Waterloo.
Please watch out for an invite to attend an info session about this program in December 2021, as well as details on how to collaborate, partner, volunteer, mentor, and participate as a youth.
You can also call us at 226-336-1988, with specific questions about this upcoming program for Black identifying youth in our community.
