Workshop: Grant Writing for Racialized Communities

  • KIND MINDS FAMILY WELLNESS Highway 7&8 and Trussler Rd. Waterloo Waterloo CANADA (map)

Hello everyone,

This October, the City of Kitchener, in collaboration with Kind Mind Family Wellness and the Kitchener Public Library, will host Grant Writing for Racialized Communities, a grant-writing workshop tailored for racialized groups serving racialized communities that teaches the essentials for writing successful municipal, provincial, and federal grant applications.

This free, two-part in-person workshop will be held on October 5th and 11th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Kitchener Public Library. The workshops will cover the basics of effective grant writing.

Participants will build their understanding of what information to share in a grant proposal and learn strategies for writing a persuasive case for support and telling the story of their work and its impact. It will also cover specifics related to the City of Kitchener’s Racialized, and Indigenous Supports for Equity (RISE) Fund, which will begin accepting applications on October 10th. Workshop participants will receive guidance and support related to their specific grant application challenges and build practical knowledge and transferable skills that can be applied to all future grant applications.
