Ian Rolston is a design enthusiast and a real leader in the field. He is the creator of Decanthropy, a design firm committed to changing the world in terms of equity. He was also recently appointed President of the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), an organization that seeks to promote local talent internationally. Finally, he is the Director Emeritus of Representation at the BAIDA (Black Architects + Interior Designers Association) Canada. Index-Design met with him to discuss his background and vision.

It's important that we continue the conversation about diversity within our communities and our business environments, but it's even more important that we, the design community, lead the way and dig into the work of creating diverse spaces. Decanthropy was established to help architects and designers fold inclusive strategies into their existing creativity and brand messaging to spark and support the DE&I of their client brand through the design of the space.
